Welcome to the BOC 2010

Dear Recruiters,

Andrew Carnegie once said, “You cannot push anyone up the ladder unless he is willing to climb.” Fortunately for Mr. Carnegie’s namesake and for us, the students at Carnegie Mellon University are more than eager to leap up whatever ladder lies between them and their ambitions.

At Carnegie Mellon, our traditions and personalities make for a lively, competitive spirit. Yet at the same time we pride our small university on its ability to come together and serve as a place of support and guidance for all who have it in their hearts to succeed. It is in this vein that little more than a dozen students come together each year to orchestrate the Business Opportunities Conference for our fellow students.

As you may be aware, the Business Opportunities Conference is an entirely student-run event designed to be the opening kick-off to your recruitment of students in the business, economics, information systems and related fields throughout the academic year. Carnegie Mellon and the Tepper School of Business are widely regarded as having top programs in the country for these fields, and our confidence in the caliber of our fellow Tartans could not be higher.

We enthusiastically encourage you to attend the BOC this fall, discover this trove of talent for yourselves, and present more ladders for us and our peers to vault.

Best Regards,

Jacob Yosafat and Michele McCauley
